Easy Like Sunday Morning
Who: Mirza and Kami
What: Even exotic dancers and shop wenches have to have a day off sometimes.
Where: Starting in the lobby, on to Kami's apartment.
When: 10/24/10
Warnings: None at the moment.

With one ear-bud in and her iPod treating her to some Lady Gaga remixes, Kami hummed along cheerfully as she managed to bump open Pax's door with a well-regulated hip bump. The jolt forced her to scramble for a second to re-establish control over the multiple bags slung over her wrists and cradled in her arms but, in the end, she was triumphant. She tried not to think how she would manage to get her keys out and her apartment door open. Either she would sprout another arm, use her mouth, or do the mature thing and set something down. It didn't matter which. It was a gorgeous Sunday, just before noon, sun still shining despite a few threatening clouds, and Vons' had a sale on chocolate chips. There was also a Halloween party right around the corner and her birthday. What more could a girl ask for?

Speaking of parties, she thought, she should double-check the costume hanging in her closet. She knew it was the right size, technically, but you never could tell in the bag with off-the-rack things. As much as she wanted short and sassy, there was such a thing as too short and sassy. No need to invite the world to view the good china, right?

As she passed the bank of mailboxes, though, Kami slowed as she tried to remember if she had picked up her mail the previous day or not. She wrinkled her nose in thought, pretty mouth screwing up in concentration. Absently, she shifted her weight to one foot to better balance her bags out as she paused. She tapped the other on the floor softly, patent-leather pump making faint clicks.

He arched an eyebrow but said nothing. Disney. Why did everyone work at Disney here? Well, not everyone. He didn't think Shae would ever get passed the security checks there. Mirza was a little disappointed when she produced vitamin water but hey, he couldn't drink alcohol all the time so when he caught the water bottle, he had the good sense to look damn gracious. "Thanks, love. Don't I know it... I'd love to just be some dancer in the background or learn enough to teach choreography. You and I, my darling, are birds of a feather." He saluted her with the water bottle and twisted the cap off his.

Kami laughed and lifted her own bottle. "I like feathers," she agreed. "They work for me." Her dark eyes sparkled with mischief as she took a long swallow of her water. Wiping her mouth then with the back of her other hand, she grinned at him. "How about you? What's your opinion on feathers?"

Mirza watched her - even watching the movement of her throat as she drank her water. What? If you really thought about it, anything could be dirty. Even that. Ooooh, especially that. "I love feathers... They feel great in just the right places," yes, he did mean like that. You know you were thinking it. Although he had no idea how they had gotten there. "Why do you ask?" he questioned, arching an eyebrow before taking a dainty sip of his water.

She duplicated his expression mildly, one perfectly shaped dark eyebrow lifted until she relented and grinned. "You're the one who said birds of a feather," she pointed out. "You could say I was looking for our feathers." She gave her head a little shake and reached for Mirza's hand. "Sorry, that was kind of random."

Lacing their fingers together, she gave a tug and pulled him towards the couch. "So," she began again as she helped her guest get comfortable, "How do you go about choreographing your sets? Are you going for an emotion, a story?" She smiled, eyes twinkling now with mischief. "Or is it all kind of aimed at just the one emotion?"

"True," he agreed with a shrug of his shoulders although he wasn't sure how that turned into talking about actual feathers. They were in a weird place really. Thankfully, she acknowledged it first.

He watched as she laced their fingers together and followed her towards the couch like a very willing puppy. Yay for sitting down. He settled on the couch quite comfortably and quite close to Kami at that. It was that lack of personal space thing. "Pretty much just go for the one emotion. You aren't getting tips trying to act out Swan Lake with a pole and your penis."

"You know," Kami drawled, toying with the cap on her bottle and giving him a sly look out the corner of her eye, "Can they even tell the difference sometimes when you're up?" Before Mirza could react to the clearly filthy innuendo or her quick glance downwards to drive the point home, Kami giggled and squirmed in her seat beside him. Coming to a rest again, she faced him with one leg tucked up beneath her, knee pressing gentle into his hip, and she propped her elbow on the back of the couch so she could better lean her head against the upraised hand. "Is the pole hard to work?" she asked.

He laughed at her sheer audacity and shook his head a little but he couldn't really think about a response when she was all wiggly. Part of him wanted to pull her into his lap but they didn't know each other very well... That didn't usually stop him but it did now for some reason. "Physically it can be pretty demanding. Emotionally more so," he didn't elaborate, more thinking about walking two fingers up along her thigh but he couldn't - his fingernails were too long and it'd likely end up just stabbing her. Stupid fingernails. "Has anyone ever told you that you're pure evil?"

"Actually... Yes." Kami gave him an unrepentant grin. "Just the other day. I think they're teasing, though, when they say that." She studied his face for a moment before relaxing further in her spot. "With what you do for a living, do people tell you you're all sorts of things?" she asked and again there was nothing but sweet curiosity in her words. It wasn't a fishing trip for dirt; Kami was clearly fascinated.

Mirza laughed, giving in just a little to circle a fingertip on her knee and licking his lips, "I think you are evil. But a good evil. Same kind of evil I am." Oh she had to ask that. With a little sigh, he settled deeper in the couch and took a sip of the water, "Of course they do. It doesn't help that the joint is seedy and that some of the other dancers will indeed take someone in the back and give them a little head or a little fuck. Whatever. I don't." His parents would have killed him if they knew what he did for a living... Good thing he was beyond old enough to make his own damn decisions.

Kami was too honest and reactive by half; her expression in response to his words reflected annoyance and disgust, nose wrinkling as if she had smelled something rancid. Then she immediately leaned in to touch her forehead to his shoulder in easy affection, arm on the back of the couch moving to give a single, gentle stroke to his thick hair. After a moment, she drew back again and gave him another smile. "So your co-workers are the stereotype, fine. I'm glad you're not. I'd hate for my first stripper to be someone less interesting than you are."

It really was awful but Mirza wasn't about to hide what was going on. Maybe if he told enough people and the right people, someone with connections and money could fix his world. Get the club cleaned up... He made a soft sound that would've been a purr if he were a cat. "Well I'm not gonna say that I wouldn't like it but I prefer my sex to be for fun, not for cash. By the end of a night of dancing I am so fucking blue balled it's not even funny..."

The idea of an exotic dancer being affected by his work had never occurred to Kami and she gave a quick blink before bursting into a terrifyingly bright smile again. "Well, now," she drawled. "That's an interesting occupational hazard. I know that dancing makes me feel good but I guess I never got that far into that, mm, style to frustrate myself." She giggled. "I'm really, really grateful suddenly."

Her hand again touched his hair soothingly. "You poor thing."

Mirza was almost afraid she would laugh but that never came. Instead he held his hands out in front of him in a sort of wondrous way, "Imagine... You're a highly sensual being who likes to be the center of attention. And you're rubbing your privates all over a pole or people are sneaking in touches all over your body even though they're not really supposed to." Yeah, how could he not get a little frustrated? It certainly got him better tips...

He grinned cheekily at Kami, sliding a hand along her thigh just pressing the boundary between sensual and not, "Why poor me? Thinking of making me all better?"

"Why? Do you need it?" Kami brought her arm back along the couch and bent it to better cradle her head again, fingers wound through dark hair. She ran a quick, assessing glance over him. "Have you been dancing?" She paused and lifted an eyebrow. "Are strip clubs even open on a Sunday?"

How astute of her! Kami was definitely amusing him more than he might have expected. "I always need it. I'm a fiend," his hand went a little higher on her thigh and just a little inward. Well, she hadn't stopped him after all. "But no, they aren't open on Sundays. I think it might actually be against the law. The one law they obey."

Her eyes didn't even flicker away from his as her free hand came down on top of his, preventing his touch from climbing any further along her thigh. The fact that her smile never wavered, though, made it less a reprimand and just a whoa, there, cowboy. "Soooo..." The twinkle in her eye warned him about some particular horror coming but the pause was too small to run. "Sundays have blue ball laws."

He grinned broadly when her hand settled on his, stopping it. Really, he'd been quite curious when she'd step in and stop him. Mirza practically giggled at her words, taking a sip of his water. He squeezed her thigh then pulled his hand away, "Unfortunately. Something about a biblical day of rest... I don't know really. But Mondays don't." His look was a little challenging.
