Re: Nish/James - 7:30, near the punch
Nish felt a wave of relief when he didn't make a big deal out of the punch, letting out a little sigh and then stepping towards him for a half-embrace. She flattened her hand against his chest and stole a quick kiss, then stepped away a little to admire his outfit. Or rather, him in the outfit. "Yeah," she said, glancing around at the familiar faces around them and their creepy concierge, and then back at him. "It's...a party," she said with an almost disappointed look. "I guess after everything that's happened recently I was expecting something more, you know? Not just...punch and candy and pumpkins." After a pause she shrugged and shook her head as if dismissing her own words. "Whatever. Here, have a piece of foot. It's actually pretty good," she said, offering her plate to him and trying hard to not look over at the punch again.
"How was work? I'm surprised they didn't force you to stay late on the creepiest night of the year," she said lightly, but wanting to take it back right away. She'd been doing her best to keep her frustrations with his schedule from him, but every once in a while a crack showed what she really felt, making her feel guilty for thinking it. "Sorry, that...I didn't mean it like that," she frowned.
