we r who we r
Who: EVERYONE.
What: LA Pride march.
Where: Hollywood Boulevard.
When: Sunday, March 11.
Notes: Hey guys! Sorry this is going up a day late; LA Pride switched from a parade to a march, so I wanted to wait to get some details (and also just to make sure nothing happened, just with the way our political and social climate has been going) to do this event right and make sure it would work for our purposes. The atmosphere still seems to have been one of celebration, and I think we're good to move forward with this idea! So feel free to have your characters dip in wherever, please remember to label where your characters are located (we're focusing on Hollywood Blvd, which means they could be standing on the starwalk, outside the chinese theater, closer to one of the ridic museums or restaurants around there, etc.) along with a timestamp if at all possible, label if you're expecting a certain character to join yours in the thread, and also please ask before joining a thread that contains two or more characters (unless it's been preplanned, ofc!). As always, even though this event is backdated, you can take your time writing out any planned -- or unplanned -- threads. And yeah! Any other questions, please direct toward the mod email.

Rainbow colored flags flapped in the afternoon hours of Sunday, moving in wind that swerved over the heads of ten thousand marchers moving up the iconic Hollywood Boulevard past the Chinese Theater that had seen starlets and producers and the Starwalk that immortalized those who had lived and died for the entertainment of others. The marchers had a far more political mindset, holding signs that read #RESIST and Trump OR Truth! They were an eclectic lot; some shirtless or pantsless, instead opting for chaps or booty shorts, some with fairy wings, most dressed in the colors of the day as they moved as one giant mass united by an idealistic world that they wanted to make reality.

Supporters and protesters alike lined the streets, separated by armed and vested police officers. Wesboro Baptist Church attendees screamed into a microphone, hurling abuse at the protesters, who mostly ignored the insults and marched on, holding their signs proudly toward the sky. Those who chose not to partake in the march watched from the sidewalk, saluting with peace signs, drinks, weed, and anything else that came to hand. Palm trees waved in the slight breeze of the hot day, the sun beating down and giving little relief to those who were prostrating themselves beneath its rays, but there were smiles, laughter, and music aplenty to keep the spirits of the attendees of the LA Pride #ResistMarch afloat.

"Dude, I don't even know," came his answer, Vinnie's face scrunched up in disgust as she dragged him like a rag doll because ew. It didn't surprise him that people acted like rabid animals, he'd spent far too much time in customer service for that, but come on.

He muttered a thanks when BB handed him a sign for his suddenly empty hand, beginning to muster up one of his dazzling smiles when she asked if he were ok. The expression hangs, half-formed, before it softened. "Yeah, I'm ok. I feel better than I have in years," he answered, hoping it would reassure her. It was even the truth, to an extent; he did feel great, better every day. But the doctors he'd gone to in New York never did figure out why he'd started getting sick, and the possibility of remission felt like the sword of Damocles.

Vinnie hummed a snatch of the song, interrupting himself with a laugh as be found himself snatched and grabbed once more. "You wore out a lot of dolls as a kid, didn't you?"

BB grinned back at him, the sign in one hand, Vinnie in the other.

"Oh, you have no idea," she replied, ducking under a large, shirtless man who was painted a rainbow of colors. "Chopped off all their hair and made Mad Max style stuff before Charlize Theron made it cool for girls. Not that I'm complaining.

"But c'mon, we're already late," she chided him, pulling him deeper into the crowds and the march to be quickly lost among the throng.

[[ ooc: ok for a close? ]]

[ooc: sounds good!]

"Man, you're making me wish I had a sister growing up," he said, as though his nicknames for his aunt don't usually translate to some variation of 'sis'. The shirtless man got a second glance, but only long enough for Vinnie to flash him a bright smile. "Quit that shit."

His laughter rang out as the crowd began to press in, hanging in the air a second after they'd both been swallowed in a sea of glitter and vibrant lives.
