Notes: Welcome to another game event thread! The same rules apply as before; please mark where your character can be found in the event location (i.e., by the bar, seated in the lounge, on the dance floor). If possible, please use a time stamp so we can keep track of everyone. If you have a specific person coming into your thread, please mark the thread with their name (i.e., by the bar, 7:30 pm - daniel), otherwise please indicate that you're 'open'. If a thread is already occupied, please talk with the players before jumping in. Any questions, please contact the mods!

The only acquiescence to the theme that had been supplied by the location selected for the latest Pax event was Flogging Molly blaring from the jukebox crammed so close to the bathroom that men and women alike had to slide their asses over its front, glass-encased menu to pee in privacy. The rest of the bar had been left untouched; the money covering every grimey inch a reminder of all the hard work put into the small bar that kept it alive.

Extra liquor was provided by the complex, entirely unnecessary and yet done regardless. Food was likewise on hand, this time the Pax management sending over their particular cook to create a plethora of holiday-themed foods: bite-sized servings of Irish stew on kabobs, shepherd's pie in small cups complete with edible potato spoons, Irish soda bread, chocolate stout cupcakes, and scones just a small sampling of the menu on hand. The bar's owner had provided her own take on the holiday's culinary offerings with gummy shamrocks soaked in vodka.

Staff was left entirely up to the location's owner, though carefully vetted by Pax management. It seemed all was well in hand by the time the first tenants decided to arrive.

Max was pulling at another kebob when BB spoke. "What's that?" she asked, popping another piece of meat into her mouth. "Is that some sort of sport?" As athletic as she was growing up, she wasn't really into sports. She didn't see the point of them, though she had played soccer and rugby in high school because they made her.

"Oh my God, Maxie," BB replied, getting excited at the opportunity to learn someone. "It's, like, the best sport ever. Hot chicks on roller skates and it's high contact, all elbows and blood and just ugh it's awesome. Whadda think?? It's... it's basically kinda like a race," she continued, bouncing in her seat. "One person on each team is the jammer, and they score points when they lap the other team, right? But the other team tries to stop the other other team's jammer, and help their own, so they can score! Here," she dug into her purse, pulling out her phone. "Check this out," she said, pulling up a video of the Rose City Rollers in Portland.

Max leant into BB to watch the video. At first she was dubious, watching it with a mixture of polite interest and skepticism. But the longer the video played the more it was starting to look like fun. "That's...kinda cool. Are you on a team? I don't know how to rollerskate," she admitted. It wasn't exactly a thing that was taught on army bases, which was where she'd spent most of her childhood. "Can you teach me?"

"YES!" BB slammed her palms down on the table, accidentally sending her phone skittering across the surface. She grabbed at it, sliding back into her spot.

"Um, yeah," she reiterated, darkening the phone's screen with a click. "I mean, I'm not, like, amazing myself, but we can figure it out! I'm not on a team yet, but I've been thinkin' about it for awhile. But yeah! We're gonna do this. It's gonna be fun!"

Max laughed at BB's enthusiasm, watching her retrieve her phone and then playfully moving her drink out of the way as if to avoid getting knocked over by flailing limbs. "Easy, girl, it's just rollerskates," she giggled. "But it does sound like fun."she pulled out her phone, discreetly checking her calendar. "I'm free this Wednesday/Thursday night and next Tuesday. I assume this will be an all-afternoon thing?"
