Notes: Welcome to another game event thread! The same rules apply as before; please mark where your character can be found in the event location (i.e., by the bar, seated in the lounge, on the dance floor). If possible, please use a time stamp so we can keep track of everyone. If you have a specific person coming into your thread, please mark the thread with their name (i.e., by the bar, 7:30 pm - daniel), otherwise please indicate that you're 'open'. If a thread is already occupied, please talk with the players before jumping in. Any questions, please contact the mods!

The only acquiescence to the theme that had been supplied by the location selected for the latest Pax event was Flogging Molly blaring from the jukebox crammed so close to the bathroom that men and women alike had to slide their asses over its front, glass-encased menu to pee in privacy. The rest of the bar had been left untouched; the money covering every grimey inch a reminder of all the hard work put into the small bar that kept it alive.

Extra liquor was provided by the complex, entirely unnecessary and yet done regardless. Food was likewise on hand, this time the Pax management sending over their particular cook to create a plethora of holiday-themed foods: bite-sized servings of Irish stew on kabobs, shepherd's pie in small cups complete with edible potato spoons, Irish soda bread, chocolate stout cupcakes, and scones just a small sampling of the menu on hand. The bar's owner had provided her own take on the holiday's culinary offerings with gummy shamrocks soaked in vodka.

Staff was left entirely up to the location's owner, though carefully vetted by Pax management. It seemed all was well in hand by the time the first tenants decided to arrive.

Re: 8:25 p.m., by the food table - Alice & Isobel

"I can make dessert!" Alice jumped in! Lifting her hands away from her face temporarily. "And I don't have any allergies. I love food."

She slumped back in the seat and moved one hand, cautiously, to poke at the wet outside of her drink. Slowly, she slipped her fingers around it and pulled it closer. "I don't know much about Brazilian food though." She sipped her drink and frowned before placing it back on the table and looking up at Isobel with large eyes. "I think I do need water."

"You've got dessert, then," Rafael said, nodding toward Alice. He motioned toward the waitress, mouthing his request for water. She nodded and hurried to respond. Rafael returned to the conversation as though there had been no break at all, not wanting to call any undue attention to Alice's markedly intoxicated state. "Baker's choice. I know we'll love anything you make."

He thought for a moment, chewing another few bites as he thought on what he might like to serve his guests. The prospect of a dinner party entertained him more than he could have anticipated. He felt outright excited, even knowing he had a great deal of cleaning and tidying to do. "There's a stew I really like, feijoada. Definitely not for vegetarians. But it's really good. Rice and farofa on the side..." He made a small, satisfied noise, and sucked sauce from the pie from his fingertips.

The waitress arrived, water in hand, and placed it neatly before the still-blushing redhead. "You need anything else?" she asked, one hand on her hip.

Isobel was halfway through taking a bite of one of her kabobs at the waitress's appearance; she quickly covered her mouth, chewing as she glanced back at Rafe.

"That sounds delicious," she said to the mention of a meatier stew. "We could bring a red wine, maybe? Obed would be better about suggestions, I'll ask. It certainly sounds like we have the makings of a nice little party on our hands. Hopefully one markedly quieter than this one," she continued, rolling her eyes a little at the loud jukebox spraying rock 'n roll over all the conversation.

"Drink something, Alice," she urged, pushing the water bottle toward the redhead. "I'd hate for you to be stuck in bed all day tomorrow. I hope you have the day off from your shop!"

Alice meekly reached for the water bottle and looked up at the waitress. "Thank you, I'm okay though," she murmured, looking sheepish. The waitress smiled and disappeared.

Twisting off the cap, she took a sip and let out a sigh. She hadn't realized how much she wanted water until she tasted it. Slumping into the seat more-so relaxed than embarrassed, she looked at her water bottle. "Yeah, I took tomorrow off. Today, too. I haven't had two days off in a row since I opened it. It's a little weird."

She licked at her lips and turned her gaze to Rafael. "Is it spicy? I wonder what type of dessert would go with it."

"Red wine would be perfect," Rafael said, nodding to Isobel. "And for dessert... I'll almost always vote chocolate. I do make the stew a little spicy, and chocolate always goes so well with that."

He pointed his half-eaten potato spoon at Alice. "More water before bed," he chided. "I'll stop by and check on you tomorrow afternoon. Whether you think you need it or not." He chuckled, and tucked back into his food.

Isobel raised her water bottle, tipping it slightly in Alice's direction. "I second the chocolate suggestion. This evening already sounds wonderful." It felt nice and so normal to have acclimated to the new setting she and Obed found themselves in. Isobel still felt like she was waiting for the other shoe to drop - as her free hand moved over her belly, perhaps it already had - but she smiled and pushed past the thoughts to appreciate what was already there.

"So, Alice," she started, turning the conversation to another path, one hand adjusting her glasses, "tell us what you've got planned for Easter. You said you wanted to talk about plants for some of your pastries?"
