Re: Near the Entrance
For a moment, a sweet, abandoned moment, she kissed him back, overwhelmed by the closeness of him, by the sense memory of a dream that still felt too real, even after the time had passed since she'd awakened. She opened her mouth to his, slid her hand to his shoulder, and a tiny moan escaped her at the feel of his arms around her, of the closeness of his grip. Her hips almost unconsciously rolled against his in reply to his movements, and her stomach did a little flip at the sensation.
But soon enough, she realized the danger of this game and pulled back, taking a breath, her heart racing as she looked up at him. She pressed her palm to his chest and shook her head with a laugh. "You didn't win if you just take something," she said. "You have to earn it." It was taking more than a moment to regain her breath; everything about him was too familiar, too close and real to that place in the past, to that other life. She pulled back a bit more.
"I should go," she said, unable to fully suppress the little note of regret in her voice.
