The bar was truly too crowded to pick any one particular face out of the crowd. If Lukas hadn't known for certain that Vince was among them, he'd have never spotted the guy. Besides, there was no rush to abandon his latest acquaintance, she looked better in heels than Vince.
Realizing that the bartender was awaiting his order, Lukas stepped up with a note of surprise in his cumulus eyes before he reached around the young woman to gesture to a bottle of corona glowing like salvation in the clear beer case. Cold, perspiring, and stabbed with a wedge of lime, his drink was slapped onto the bartop alongside her's.
An artisan flay of fingers grazed her hip in the pursuit of attention, and Lukas lifted his drink toward her's in a toast. To what? It never mattered.
