What an odd way to make one's presence known. You begin, I suppose, with the basics. My name is Alexander Dahlin. You may have read some of my work already. Inane novels, mostly, of no use to anyone. People are just throwing money around these days; write a book, make a million. Own a pretty face, you're a movie star. Strange world. And this? Well, I've certainly never lived in a building like this, and with such a ridiculously strange grand, useful form of communication. No doubt it will prove to be a pain in my ass wonderful way to get to know each and every one of you. Given my profession, I've quite an extensive personal library. Do feel free to contact me at any point if you're interested in perusing it. I only ask that you return whatever you borrow in the pristine condition it was left to you. It's only polite, after all, and friendships are based on mutual trust. Or so I've heard.

Having only moved in this weekend, I'm still getting used to the lay of the land. Does anyone know of a good tailor? Highly underutilized commodity in this day and age. Gentleman really should pay more attention to the little details in life.

Due to my nocturnal habits, please avoid knocking on my door during what would be considered normal hours. I enjoy the night and sleep through the mornings. An interruption to my sleep can be overlooked, however, if you bear gifts of alcohol or delectable thighs. Lastly, please, for the love of all that is holy, only refer to be as Alexander (or Mr. Dahlin, if you're the formal sort). I simply cannot stomach responding to Alex or any version of an obnoxious nickname.

Happy holidays, though they have passed us by already.

Welcome to the building, Mr. Dahlin! I'm Juliet Blackwater, Apartment 802. I have to say, I'm a little amazed that we have a celebrity living in the building. I hope that's not too impolite, and are authors celebrities? Your books are fairly? popular at the library I work at, and I've definitely sunk my teeth into a few.

I would absolutely love to browse through your collection, if you're still willing to share.

Greetings, Miss Blackwater. I thank you for the warm welcome. I'm so very happy that you're young, and delightfully of the fairer sex you've taken the time to say hello.

I certainly wouldn't call myself a celebrity, however, I really must call my agent and thoroughly strangle him if I'm not currently on the NY Times bestseller's list. My new friend Michael Wolf, across from me in P2, is far more the celebrity than I. But you are certainly sweet to say so.

Perhaps I will venture into your library someday. Care to give an old man a tour?

You're more than welcome to browse my collection. What's your favorite wine, hm? I will make sure to have some on hand for you.

I'm afraid there's not much in the library to give a tour of, but feel free to stop by whenever you like! Maybe we could even arrange a book signing? Not to pressure you, or anything. The library could use the attention...

Oh, I'm not that much of a drinker, though I do like Pinot gris. Just not too much or I might pull another stunt like the one at Halloween and spill my drink all over you, how fantastic would that be. I would be much more interested in the books, believe me!

Yes, I do occasionally do book signings. If I'm desperately bored. Or attempting to impress a--- So, yes, I'd be more than happy to look into that, if you'd like. Might drum up some damned sales.

I'l make sure to keep that in stock. Just in case. Come up whenever you please, Miss Blackwater. Looking forward to your presence.

Well, well, look who's here!

You realize that now you've moved to civilization, we have to get together lunch or drinks or what have you so we can catch up, right?

My God, I never would've imagined! How long have you been here, lover? We absolutely must catch up. I simply must see that Heaven-sent ass utterly divine face of yours.

Allow me to buy you dinner, hm? Wherever you'd like.

About a year and a half, I'd say!

And of course, you're so sweet to offer. There are a few local places that are really fantastic. When's good for you?

Good God, life moves so quickly, it's rather unbelievable.

Wherever you'd like, yes, as I said; you must show me around, hm? And any time this weekend would be glorious for me, if you're free.

Hello Alexander, I'm Richard Wainwright. (Very much not Rick, Ricky, or Dick, so I understand where you're coming from on names.) At any rate, I might take you up on your library offer. In exchange, you can borrow from my media collection, which is also pretty big if I do say so myself. On the same conditions, of course.
