Attention fellow insomniacs:

I've just moved in, I've been stress-baking to avoid finishing my unpacking, and I appear to have accidentally doubled the batch on some chocolate-chip cookies. Please come say hello and pick some up before I eat them all and make myself sick and/or permanently alter the earth's gravitational pull through the expanding size of my ass.

Thanks,
Bea
Room 702

P.S. Right, introductions. Bea Murray, new resident, museum curator/ artist. Seriously, come eat cookies.

Hey, welcome to Pax. I'm Idris, down in 305.

I know you're not supposed to take things from strangers, but a couple cookies couldn't hurt. What's a little breaking the rules when it comes to dessert? :)

Oh god, I've accidentally sounded like the witch from Hansel and Gretel. Idris, I promise these are good, wholesome stranger cookies - roofies cost extra.

Hey, it can't be any worse than unintentionally attempting to be the next Dr. Seuss. For free cookies, I won't complain, though I gotta say I might pass on the roofies. ;)

They are, aren't they? I'm glad I'm not the only new person in the building. This place is surprisingly nice.

Welcome to the building, Bea. I'll pass on the cookies (for now), but I'm curious about the curator/artist thing. I haven't been to a gallery in too long. Do you have any exhibitions currently open?

I'm Karin Shepherd, by the way, #107. Pleased to meet you. :)

Good to meet you, Karin. I don't have any exhibitions of my work out now, but my day job is Curator of Special Exhibits for the Museum of Folk Art in L.A., and we're about to open up an exhibit on 3D-printed art (very exciting!).

You, too. It sounds like it'd be worth a look. I'll have to go by one weekend.

Welcome! What museum do you work at? I'm a junior curator at the LA Museum of Natural History. I'm Rylee Eckholm.

I'm Curator for Special Exhibits at the Museum of Folk Art - my focus is on new media and technology, which of course makes me wildly popular at folk art conferences. :) What's your main area, or are you still in the "flunkee" phase of being a junior curator?

Not really, just getting firm footing in the museum before persuing my PhD so that I can take on curating fully. I specialize in the American Civil War although I give tours for the entirety of the museum and also informational sessions on different wars in general.

Cookies? Like, with sugar? Not that there's anything wrong with my sister's, I just miss non-vegan food sometimes... I'll be up in five.

I'm a metalworker - mostly sculpture, but I've done engravings in the past. We should get together sometime and talk shop.
