Norman Osborn sat as he commonly did in the early evening alone in his office. It had been several days since he had actually took it upon himself to leave Oscorp for home, so that Harry was in the mean time taken care of by the staff which was also fairly common. Ever since the events in Sokovia, Norman had sensed and known that there was a niche to be filled in the world. A niche he felt he could satisfy, and why not? Stark had had his chance, to say nothing of Justin Hammer's laughable attempt to step into the lime light. It was time for Oscorp to become more involved in developing superhero politics and as it happened, the time was ripe, for Norman had for years been working upon his own version of a super soldier formula even before the return of Captain America himself. A means of improving the human body as well as providing the weaponry to go along with it.
In his own mind, he liked to think of his project as a fusion of Captain America and Stark's alter ego, 'Iron Man.' A more perfect man, with the weapons of tomorrow in his grasp. Perhaps if such a hero had been in play months ago the people of Sokovia would not be suffering as they suffered now.
All of which was why he was laboring so hard, continually refining his engineering, or outright scraping a project and starting all over again. It was how he had built Oscorp in the first place and how he would continue to succeed. And if Harry did not understand right now, Norman was convinced that he would one day and be the better for it. A sound stirred him from his reverie and he shifted in his chair to look out his office window which afforded him a view of 'Avengers Tower' in the distance. It was the same view he had had of the Chitauri invasion, watching from afar with wide eyed wonder as the fate of the world hung in the balance. In retrospect he knew he should have sought shelter and been terrified like so many others that day but in the moment he had been all too transfixed by the alien technology and more that, a keen desire to be out there with the Avengers. Which was yet another reason he desired to finish his formula as soon as possible, so that when the next crisis hit he and Oscorp would be ready to meet it.
And so with a resigned sign Norman turned in his chair once more and went back to the holographic display before him of a heavily armed glider for his future soldier.
