Remind me again why no one's putting a stake through this one when it's the big weight on the death side of the survival versus death scale? Pleading to a thing with no soul doesn't look like it's doing more than firing that damn vampire up to do exactly what everyone's trying to avoid.

Won't be a body left when the staking's done, so dress it up how you want. Get its goddamned TV people to blame it on some crazy fan who kidnapped it. Frame a vampire gang we'd be taking out anyhow and play the publicity angle.

But the way I see it, that thing's number is up.

I'm sure of three things - that show and that goddamned thing on it started the ball rolling in one of these futures, that thing is about to get on TV and start the witch hunt that won't end with Slayers, and I'm not standing by and watching it happen.

It'll be a good idea as the people working it are fully on board, otherwise they'll get sloppy. We can't afford sloppy on this. And if we have to take it that far, we'll get someone done up like a vampire to attack that blonde moron of a vampire, get it on film, then stake it and sent the film in.

	I'm great with the entire bringing her down concept, it's mostly the backfiring in our faces bit that has me concerned. We need to be really careful if we're going through with this, Dad. Failure will only result in supplying Harmony with more ammunition to use against us and that could potentially make that supposed horrible future of ours even worse. She had plenty of ammunition before even that started. Do you not know how celebrities work, Dad? Rabid fans? Anything we say or do, she'll find a way to turn it against us. She doesn't have to dig or look, she just has to find one entry about how fun it'd be if we went out to cover a hunt or how badly those vampires have pissed so and so off. It's not hard.

The best I could come back with is retaliating her way, but that's a route I'd prefer to avoid taking as well.

I agree with you entirely. I'm hoping she dies. It's the only way to solve all this permanently, but we can't do that until we have a safe and sure way in.

Dad, if you're certain that this is how she needs to be handled, then I'm gonna be with you. One hundred percent with you. But I want you to be sure. I'd hate to see this go badly and I don't wanna lose anyone again. It's just - I know you. And sometimes you make the bad decisions with the best of intentions at heart. Hell, we all do. Sometimes it goes well, but mostly it ends up screwing.

Just promise me that if we do this, we're doing it together. All of us as a team. You're not gonna run off half-assed at the last second and make some decision that ends up getting you killed.

Hell yes, I'm sure. It needs to be one of us that take hers down, not some goon paid to do it who could blow the whole plan, and it needs to be someone else taking the fall for it.

The vampire plan, the reason doesn't even have to be believable to every damn vampire, just to those idiots getting stirred up now. Give the idiot masses a video of a vampire tearing another vampire apart and they won't know anything but to be afraid of vampires like they damn well should be.

The lunatic fan plan, that happens all the time. People are fucking crazy. Won't score any publicity wins, but it'll shut the damn vampire up.

Personally, I feel that both plans would be useful if done the right way. The vampire plan could be played out before or after Harmony is disposed of; revealing to the public that those vampires are creatures that shouldn't be messed with is important now that they know of their existence and especially after everything that Harmony has stuffed into their heads about them being the good guys. Putting footage of that on the internet? It's a good plan. Harmony might be able to argue against it, but at least that information is out there for people to see for themselves.

As for the latter, I imagine Harmony stating a claim that we're behind it isn't an impossibility. It seems that all bets are off on her holding off on us now, so she really has nothing to lose in the event that she feels the need to start trouble. And she will. It doesn't matter if it's truly us or not behind the attack. She'll use what she can against us to make her point even more solid. As I was telling Faith, this isn't a case of someone doing it for laughs. Harmony truly believes that what she is doing is righteous. When someone like that exists, you've got to either take them down or make them see that they're in the wrong and since it seems that reasoning with someone like her is an impossibility I'm rooting for the dust.

However, if the plan goes to our advantage then that won't be an issue. Unless we go with the making the approach more realistic by sending her the crazy emails/letters/gifts, and even then she could pretend that it was one of us just to rub some more bad light into our faces. If she attempts that particular approach, it's going to make us look like we did it no matter how much we play it into the hands of an unknown psychotic fan. And while we can claim that we're gonna need proof to make those accusations valid, it won't matter to those fans of hers because their idol would be gone and I'm very much certain that they're not going to like that news at all.

That's why I'm pretty uncertain about all this. If it's going to be taken on, it needs to be taken on perfectly. No room for error, no way that Harmony could ever even begin to think that we're the ones behind this. If we can manage that, then I want it to happen. I really, really want it to happen.

If you can promise that this will be a team effort rather than you calling the last minute shots without letting us know, then...yes. Yes, sir. If you'll have me.
