They're streets in Atlantic City, New Jersey, which is a town on the East Coast of North America." Since most people didn't understand that, she'd rather over-explain than under-explain. "And the goal of the game is to buy as many as you can, and to build as many hotels and houses on them as you can, so that when the other players land on them, they have to give you all their money and go bankrupt."
It was really a fairly simple concept, and if you thought of it closely enough, a pretty evil one too.
"Sam - my boyfriend before I - died," that was the only way to explain it - "We had this version we called Strip Monopoly. Basically when you didn't have any money, you could pay the rent by removing clothing. Different pieces of clothing were worth more money than others."
