Who: Peter and OTA
Where: Peter's shelter he's attempting to build
When: 8/18/2016
Rating: TBD
Status: Ongoing and Open

It was hot out, the sun was bright and beaming down carrying strong heat with it, soaking into the waters of the ocean and the sands and earth of the beach and island respectively. The trees provided great shade, but unfortunately Peter wasn't building his shelter under the trees, he needed space after all, and so he was out in the intense heat. Sure it wasn't as bad as New York could get at times, but it was still pretty hot and had forced Parker to go shirtless partway through the building of his shelter.

Currently he had one of the large beams in hand, held above his head while he looked at the walls currently being put up. His engineering degree was helping here, he'd built bridges and skyscrapers out of toothpicks in challenges in middle and elementary school, he understood all of it. It was just trying to work it out in his head, as he'd not bothered to create a blueprint and was going clearly just off what he knew.

A couple of walls were standing at this point, on either side and the back, and of course the floor was in place; now, he had to get the upper floor built, but was trying to decide if he wanted to break up rooms first before worrying about it, it wouldn't be too difficult he figured. It'd basically be one bedroom, a living area, and a makeshift 'kitchen'/dining area, and a loft up top.

Wiping a bit of sweat off his brow, he leaped up onto the ledge of the wall to get himself an aerial view. Dropping into the room below, he decided to go with the rooms being walled off first, so he didn't have to try to slip in beams underneath the ceiling, and began to place the beam in place, whipping the large, heavy beam around his head before setting it down across the floor, laying it flat and moved out of the house to begin grabbing the smaller beams that'd go in between. He loved building, this was like real life Minecraft.

Jaime blinked a few times then laughed softly. "Sounds simple to you, maybe. Not me - I don't know a thing about any of that." unless and spirits decided to yak her ear off about such things, but since that wasn't happening, Jaime was clueless. "About as far as I got with anything engineering based was the science fair in seventh grade - building a bridge with pasta noodles. and trust me, my bridge was anything but sound." she grinned.

She took his hand and smiled. "Ramble away Mr. Parker - I talk to myself a lot, well not to myself but that's a long story." she inclined her head towards him. "I'm Jaime Vegas, it's a pleasure to meet you." she pushed a curl out of her eyes and smiled. "So really, I do not mind being rambled at."

Peter laughed again and tilted his head down, conceding the point, "Yes, well, simple to me. I guess I sometimes forget that engineering does come simple to me, like things like grilling steak, or baking a chocolate cake, or playing a guitar is simple to others and I have zero idea how to do any of that..." He thought about it then shook his head, with another chuckle, "And right, yes, science fair. And a bridge with pasta noodles! Oh! I did that one in elementary school, for a science group I was apart of. It was amazing."

He then waved his hand, "Not my bridge, the group. Did you use marshmallows? I did. My partner ate most of them so we had to make due with very little in the world of marshmallows."

Brow raised he nodded, "Pleasure's all mine, I'm sure. And what brings you to my half-humble abode. I'd offer you to come inside, but it's nicer out here."

Peter's energy made her smile a bit, oh to have that kind of energy again. She missed those days sorely. "Everyone has a talent, Peter. Mine is necromancy, not engineering." she laughed softly. "I think this was 7th grade for me, it's been awhile. We only had pasta noodles, no marshmallows. I might have managed a half-passable bridge with some marshmallows."

Jaime shrugged a little bit. "Oh, I was just out getting my bearings a bit more and enjoying the day when I heard you so I came to see who was here and what was up. I'm a little nosy that way." she laughed and shrugged. "It's in my nature, I fear. When you're done if you need curtains or anything, let me know. Sewing is my useful skill."

"It's true. Mine is putting my foot in my mouth," Peter laughed and then moved towards the small shelter to toss his boards back onto the floor and wiped off his hands onto his shorts, turning back to face her and then raised a brow, "Wait, did you say you do necromancy?" He frowned and shook his head, "Assuming you're not from my world, I wonder if it means quite the same thing."

He laughed and moved towards her, "My world, it's someone who raises and talks to the dead. The Hand practice it a bit, and a group sent to kill Doctor Strange..." He thought a moment on that and shook his head, "That guy gets all the weird villains..."

Parker waved it off and then looked back towards Jaime, "Nosy's fine. We're all living within feet of each other it seems, and we all need to trust one another. And I probably will require some curtains. Though I can sew pretty well, I sewed my costume, but I'm by no means an expert, so I'll turn to you. Day is nice though... did you uh, want to continue to enjoy it?"

Thinking on the words he just said he shook his head, "I mean, you know, with me. I'm not trying to subtly tell you to leave or anything."

Jaime watched him with a bit of a smile. "Eh, I know a lot of people that their talent is putting their foot in their mouth, it's pretty commonplace and really, it can be funny." she smiled warmly at him. "I do and it's pretty much the same."

She shrugged. "I talk to the dead. See the dead. Can raise them but prefer not to. The talking to the dead is always a poor life choice, they don't shut up and it's enough to make you crazy if you try to listen to all the spririts around and stuff." she shook her head. "and if it was alive, it has a spirit - human or animal. I've never tried insects and am not really game for it either."

"Well, then, when you get done give me a shout and I'll set you up with some decent curtains." she lifted a brow at his wording before laughing again, shaking her head in amusement. "I do indeed wish to continue enjoying the day and would be happy to give you a reason to take a break from building." she was smiling, though. "You're a breath of fresh air, you know that?"

"Do you? So do I. I probably learned from some of them," He offered and then came to stop in front of her and then nodded, "I can see why raising them would be a bit on the weird side, best stick with your Haley Joel Osment impersonation, you're probably great at it. Do they have a lot to say, or is it actually them talking in really long, slow syllables with vague, creepy undertones?"

He shrugged, "I ask only because that's simply what I assume what it would be. But I know the dead are truly stereotyped and under represented in Hollywood. So it could be my own mistakes..."

Laughing, and then shaking his head he nodded, "I was able to talk to insects and spiders for a bit. It was super weird. Glad it went away kind of. Anyway! Yes, I'd love a break from building. We'll take a walk and see where it takes us."

Winking he ran to grab up his white tee, pulling it on before stretching it out a bit and moving back towards her, "Am I? And why's that?" He fell into step away from the shelter, and began to walk with her.

"Honestly if you give them five seconds of your time they talk for days. I wish I was exaggerating. They can go on and on and on." She laughed softly, then shook her head. "It's enough to make someone go crazy, so I avoid it as much as possible."

Jaime smiled. "No one wants to think the dead actually have something to say. That's just how it is in Hollywood..sells better the way they do it." She clasped get her hands behind her back and smiled at him.

She was getting better at walking in the woods and not tripping. It was a lesson she was glad she was learning. "Your energetic, and seem to throw yourself into the conversation. It's just a pleasant change of pace, I'm glad for it."

"Well, to be fair, I throw myself into the conversation because when I feel awkward, I start rambling to the point of being completely incoherent, and that sucks. Let me tell you. Still, it also helps when you have someone nice and as wonderful as you, to talk to. Especially when that person talks to dead people and therefore probably has twenty better stories than me."

As they walked, he ran his hands together, and then looked over at her as he raised a brow, "So how do you like it here? It's probably a bit quieter here for you than even me, and I'm from New York which is bustling with noise. But can't be that many spirits here, it's a deserted island. Save for the animals I guess..."

Peter was more than fine with walking in the woods, though that was only because he literally had super powers that made him extremely balanced and aware of his surroundings. So it was a bit of an unfair advantage, "It's hot around here, it's probably the most difficult part to get used to."

Jaime tilted her head back to laugh a little more. "Oh you're wonderful. I don't know about a lot of stories for you, but I have some and some are good and some are bad and some are downright weird." she grinned a bit more at him as they walked, she tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled again.

"It's very quiet. It's wonderfully so. No one's clambering for my attention. I can sense the animal spirits but they aren't talkative, they're just there and gone again fi at all. It's a vacation from all the cacophony of sounds back home, so I love it."

"Eh - I spent a lot of time in Georgia and the like, it's not too hard to adjust myself."

"Am I? Aww, I've only been told that exactly 3 and a half times. I say half, because someone took it back moments after saying it," He winked with a chuckle, then continued on his walk with her, stretching his neck and back a bit, before glancing over at her, "I wonder if they're not talkative because there were no humans with speech or something. I don't know how animal spirit conversation works, just figured that might have something to do with it."

He looked over at her, and then nodded, "Yea, I'm from New York. It got super hot during the summer, but most of the time it was cold as hell. Still, this place is warm, I do like it though. Are you from Georgia?" Deciding having backstory was always nice, smirking over at her as he looked at her.

She was cute, definitely very pretty and eye catching. It was weird for him to look at every person he came past and thinking of them in a sexual manner due to the nature of their 'job' here on the Island, "And have you enjoyed your time here on Sex Island yet?"
