We haven't had a story telling bonfire in a while. So tonight's post will be 1000 points for a starter that tells a cultural story. This can be something personal or something general about your character's world.

It was a cute little story, Eddie thought. He'd always loved the stories that explained the world around them...stories that the world had turned to before science provided more accurate - but far more mundane - explanations. There was so much more color in thinking of the birds as creatures who had won a race that would define their existence than it was to think of them simply in having evolved that way. The world knew so much, but he couldn't help but wonder if it had lost much, as well.

When Jaime was done with her story, he looked up at her and clapped politely. He had stories of his own, but really didn't feel like telling them. They all led back to things that he'd come here to forget.

"So where'd you grow up?" He asked.

"Oh the South mainly. But we wandered around for pagents and stuff, but mostly the South." Jaime smiled warmly. She tucked a red stand behind her ear and grinned a bit.

"my grandmother liked to pass on those kinds of tales. My mother didn't like it much." But that was mostly because she hadn't wanted Jaime to follow in her grandmother's footsteps. Too bad she did anyways."what about you?"

	"Me? I'm from Iowa. Grew up in Montana. Nothing terribly interesting. Pretty much the only thing you need to know about me is that I'm not good around a lot of people." Obviously. "Oh Iowa, I've been there a few times. Montana too. They're interesting places." a lot of ghosts had followed her through most of the states she'd been to, though. So her kind of interesting might be a little different.

"Ah well, honey, I'm good around lots of people and I can be that way for just about all of us." she grinned wickedly. "I grew up on stage and have my own TV show and did live tours, too."

"Oh it's interesting enough - but then again, I see dead people, so the wilds of Montana are good for that." she said with a smile. Was she serious? Yes. But that was left for him to wonder about.

Jaime smiled a bit more. "The pageants, eh. Not so much. They were tedious and really exhausting. The TV show? You get used to show-biz, honestly. There's a TV face and a behind the scenes real-you kind of thing. It's just another kind of job really."

	She read the look, she knew that kind of look, and smiled gently before ignoring the old topic and settling in on the new. "Sometimes, I just want to be me. 	"Well, I think we all have to enjoy it in our own ways," he said. "I was here a long while before anyone showed any interest in me at all. Things are doing better now.
