Their cabin was finished! Or at least finished enough Chloe and Finnick could move in. They were having a housewarming party the night before they usually had a bonfire. This was a milestone not just for the soon to be parents, but for the island community. Maybe soon they could build a cabin for other people. It would go faster too, now that they had experience putting one together.

Chloe was still packing up her stuff in the old shelter she shared with Finnick. Not being able to bend too easily and growing suddenly tired made moving their stuff something way outside her normal OCD tendencies. It was driving her nuts!

“Finnick?” she called out in exasperation from where she was looking in corners. “Have you seen the pillows? There’s that one that I shove between my knees when my back hurts and it’s the only one I don’t want to lose.”

"Okay..." Chloe wasn't sure what was going on until it was too late, and she was scooped up and carried through the door. Then she burst out laughing with her arms around Finnick's shoulders.

"Oh my god!" She was absolutely charmed, and not a little bit overcome with emotion. Jimmy hadn't had the chance to carry her over the threshold when they'd gotten married. He'd gone from the reception straight to the ICU. "Who told you about this?!"

"Nick mentioned it. He said it was something traditional in your world, when a couple enters their new home together for the first time." Nick had also mentioned something about them not being married, so he thought it might have something to do with wedding traditions but he left that part out as not really applicable.

"Did I do it right?" He asked, smiling. She seemed to be pretty happy with it, but he wanted to be sure.

	"Nick?" Chloe laughed again with a shake of her head. She was going to track that goofball down tonight and give him a big hug and kiss for this! For now, Finnick was the one who got hugged and kissed. "You did it perfectly." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Yeah, Nick of all people." He said with a laugh. Nick certainly didn't seem like a romantic, but he obviously had that side to him. It had been thoughtful of him to tell Finnick about something that would make Chloe so happy, and he was grateful to him for it.

Finnick hugged and kissed her, then put his forehead to hers and said softly. "So it's official that this is home now."

	Yep! That goofy telekinetic guy was getting the biggest hug ever and she was so telling everyone how sweet he was underneath all that bravado. Served Nick right for being schmoopy enough to tell Finnick about this. Chloe's eyes were a little misty as she smiled at Finnick. "Our home." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Our home for our family." He put his hand on her tummy lightly as he smiled and looked into her eyes. He'd been a bit freaked out at times about the baby and everything, but when he was with Chloe, holding her, then he knew that they were doing the right thing and everything was going to be OK.

After a couple minutes he remembered they were hosting a party and still had a few things to get ready. "People will be here any minute. I should finish putting things in place." He went back to the porch to get the basket he had left out there when he'd picked up Chloe. He put the basket in the bedroom and then put the shrimp out on the table. Everything seemed ready.
