Link returned the handshake and the smile, nodding at her not taking offense to his statement on collecting. Falling in step with her, then, he seemed pleased with the idea of her showing him around, "Seems like a good building to get built up first I suppose. Or at least finished first. I've built a couple of homes before, even carved one out for myself in my tree back home."
When she mentioned clothes, he blinked, goodness he had nothing with him in terms of that. Yea he'd have to work on getting clothes. He doubted his tunic would suffice all of the time. He then smirked, "Oh, good, well I'll probably take one of those ones up before I can get one of my own built. And why did they leave? I mean, I imagine the task of being left with a small group of people without the stuff you're used to from home, away from family and loved ones, can get to people so I assume that's why the people left, but they weren't kicked out or something were they?"
He was a bit curious just how the 'laws' of the land worked, if there really were any at all. He remembered hearing about how there necessarily weren't, but also figured some might have been established eventually.
"Where are you originally from, if you don't mind talking about it."
