So far, while everyone was working very hard on the medical facility, they hadn't gotten far enough into it for Ray to find a reason to use the exosuit and, if he was entirely honest, he was itching to get back into it. With the rain, he hadn't had a chance — all he'd managed was to program the suit's comm system to sync up to the bracelet like a Bluetooth and then tweak the programming in the suit to automatically read out any text-based messages he might receive in flight while also translating voice to text so that he could respond to them — but he couldn't help noticing after the sun went down that it had tapered off — if the slow to a stop of the sound of it pattering on his shelter's roof was any indication — and Ray couldn't wait any longer. It was fine if it was nighttime, after all. It would hardly be the first time he'd flown at night. Ray took the suit, still in its compact form about four inches tall and in its tiny carrying case, and he headed out to the beach, following the path worn into the grass through the jungle leading away from the camp. Once he'd gotten out there, he took a moment to look up at the sky, marveling to himself that only a few minutes ago, it had been pouring rain and now the skies were clear and filled with a spattering of unfamiliar stars. This place never ceased to amaze him. He didn't suspect that it ever would. Pocketing the little case for the suit, Ray took the exosuit out and pressed one of the buttons on the front, causing the suit to suddenly expand to its life-size form on the sand in front of him. "I missed you, old boy," he muttered with a little smirk as he turned on the power source for the propulsion jets on its back and then started to dress himself into it. Once inside, Ray stretched his arms over his head and systematically powered on the remaining propulsion jets for flight, starting with his legs, "Do," moving to his arms, "Ray," and finishing with his shoulders, "Egon..." Ray paused for a moment to appreciate his own stupid pop culture reference with a dopey little grin before he finally took off, shooting up into the air and zipping around over the ocean in large circles, like a puppy chasing their tail only on a much larger scale. |
