WHO: Cisco Ramon & Barry Allen
WHERE: Cisco's rock shelter
WHEN: Monday morning
WHAT: Waking up in bed together, womp
WARNINGS: lolz
STATUS: Complete

Things I don't remember: how the hell'd we get here? How the hell did we get here?

Cisco had done a lot of hard work in his day, of course he had, but not manual labor. The past week and change had been a lot of hauling rocks, stacking rocks, and then lather, rinse, repeat. Once he'd finished his own shelter, he'd started helping Barry with his and because it wasn't quite as close to the stream, the hauling took a little longer and managing to get enough mud from the edge of the stream to the place Barry was building had been a bit more of a challenge than he'd thought it would be. It was still kind of rewarding to be the hero of the two of them for the moment. It wasn't saving lives, but the sentiment felt kind of the same to him, in its own way.

Barry had been staying with Cisco when they finished building for the night, retiring on the floor of Cisco's crude house a few yards away on the floor. He didn't mind sharing the space with his best friend, at least for now. They'd finish Barry's shelter probably by the end of the next day or so, if they kept working at the current rate, and then they'd both have a spot of privacy which, for Cisco, was important. He loved having Barry around, but he didn't love having to sort of stave off the encounters with the ladies for fear of getting walked in on.

That morning, Cisco woke up to a slap in the face — literally — as Barry moved in his sleep. "Dude, you're in my bubble," he grunted as he shoved Barry's hand away from his face and rolled onto his side away from his friend, eyes still closed and voice hoarse from sleepiness, "get out of my bubble, man, personal space is important."

It took only long enough for Cisco to say those words before he was awake enough to actually register that he wasn't laying on the cool, hard ground, but in a bed. In a really comfortable bed, under blankets, in his boxers...and Barry was literally inches away. Cisco's eyes snapped open and he fell out of the bed in his hurried attempt to move away, scrambling to his feet.

"Whoa, what the—?!" he managed.

Barry easily caught the towels and other items with a grin. "Hey, you don't have to be sorry," he assured Cisco. "You definitely deserve to enjoy your new bed." And it wasn't like Barry wanted to enjoy it with him. Not like that. Cisco was one of his best friends and that was it.

"We're pretty close to being done anyway," he said. "And either way, I can crash there tonight and give you some space."

Well, at least Barry was being cool about it. That was something, in any case. Cisco rounded the bed again to look for his old jeans, not wanting to dirty a pair of the clean ones when he knew they were going to be working with mud probably for the rest of the day.

"All right," he said as he pulled them on, zipped them up, and fastened the button before reaching for his shirt. "Let's go crank this out for you then. I'd feel kind of shitty if we didn't finish it and you still had to crash there, man, I'm not that selfish."

That sounded like a good plan and Barry went to grab his own jeans when he heard a blood curdling shriek. Everything else, putting on pants, finishing his shelter, even the awesome gifts that Cisco had found upon a waking, was forgotten as he took off and went in search of the source. He may not be The Flash here, but that didn't mean he was going to let someone suffer needlessly.

By the time Cisco pulled his shirt over his head, Barry was gone. Cisco blinked, took a deep breath, and sighed. "Or...you know, I can work on it myself until you come back, that's cool, too," he said with a huff of amusement and a shake of his head before heading out of his shelter and back toward the one in progress for Barry so that he could get started on the last day of work on it.
