Filtered Against Tony
Can you all do me a little favor?

The new arrival, Tony Stark? Don't tell him about the lack of need for birth control here. At least not immediately. It would mean the world to me for him to not know that.

Definitely not. No one, especially Tony, needs to know what I do in private.

Well, it's not like I go around bragging. I wouldn't do that to you.

Oh, I wasn't implying that you would. I just wanted you to know that no one will hear anything about you from me.

I never thought you would. We're good, Bruce. Except for the avoiding each other for a while part.

Not avoiding, Maria. Just... being careful.

What do we have to be careful of? It's not like we're engaged to be married all of a sudden.

You're probably right. I haven't been with anyone else. Maybe I should change that.

I just don't want Tony to ruin this. Whatever this is.

You haven't? I was with one other person. Before you. But no one else recently.

Does that mean something? It shouldn't mean anything.

It's a good thing my gun has no bullets

I was with one other person exactly once and he left. Not exactly reassuring.

Good thing you didn't jump into the procreation thing, huh?

There's been a decided lack of interest in my direction, and I tend to plan things out better than that.

Maybe we can... I mean eventually

Planning something like that is a good idea.

Yes. From a purely clinical standpoint, I want to know what expect before I am personally involved.

We have coffee. Why can't we have liquor?

No, I don't mind answering the question. I just wasn't sure if you meant clinically or personally.

Personally.

Well, I'm not sure if it's in my file, but the accident rendered me incapable of fathering children. Arva has corrected that, so I certainly plan to do my part there, though I don't intend to raise the children myself. I would be a terrible role model.

I have read your file, but I assumed along with control Arva fixed other things too.

Also part of the reason I agreed to come, truth be told.

What about you?

oh boy

When I first came here it was an assignment. My outlook on it has changed. It's still a job, but one I believe in now. One I want to do. There's too much potential to treat it just clinically.

As for children, yes. Eventually. I've watched the problems we've all gone through because people jumped the gun on the pregnancies. I won't be a hindrance to the society so I'll wait until the common good can handle it.

But I feel that if I'm going to have a child then I'm going to be a mom. I don't expect anyone who fathers it to be hands on if they don't want. If it's my decision to raise it, the responsibility is mine.

That seems like a reasonable approach. And I think it's wise to wait until we're a bit more established as a community if you're planning to raise your child. I don't think we're in a good position for that at the moment.
