Tenel Ka Djo stood at the edge of the water, dressed not in white but in a elegantly simple dark green gown, holding in her fingers the crown of Hapes and wearing the ring her mother had given her on her right hand. The little man made lake was as ever stunningly beautiful, it was why she'd chosen it after all, and at this time of day, just at the cusp of evening she thought it even more beautiful. It reminded her of her jungle like Garden on Hapes. Where Jacen had found her the night they'd concieved Allana. It was perfect for this day. This day that was going to be more perfect than any other. For no other reason than she was finally marrying him. Jacen. The only man she had ever loved in all her life. From the day she'd first met him, lying about being of royal blood, saying she was just another trainee Jedi, till it was all revealed with a slice of a lightsaber blade and the accidental loss of her arm.
And then Myrkr, loosing Anakin, the Vong War. Vergere. The years where she wasn't sure how he felt about her. Those had been hard, The Swarm War, Alema Rar, dealing with Jaina, She'd known he loved her then, and they had Allana. And for a while things had been good, not perfect, but good. Until her world had been shattered aboard her ship over Kashyyk.
A burning world had broken her heart. And she'd thought she'd lost him, when Jaina's blade had pierced his heart it might as well have pierced hers too.
But they'd gotten a second, and then third chance here. And after some troubled times they'd found themselves again, rekindled a love she'd thought had left him forever. And it had led them here.
With everything they'd been through, with everything they'd done. It was a miracle to her that they'd gotten this far. But here they were. Here she was, standing at the edge of a lake with her friends beside her, ready to watch her become his wife.
She watched the dwindling light glistning on the water and a gentle breeze at her back.
Everything was perfect.
