Jaina wasn't certain if the Force was just testing her, or if this was how she was meant to train in order to defeat Caedus, but either way she didn't like it one bit. This city positively stunk - both literally and figuratively. The lack of sunlight was annoying, and the demon-infested streets was becoming a nuisance. How was she supposed to better hone her abilities in a place like this? It was impossible. And, to make matters worse, Darth Vader was running around. Jaina could sense him in the Force - an ever-present beacon that both terrified her and piqued her curiosity.
If ever there was a time for meditation, the young woman finally decided with a sigh as she reached the top of the bluffs, this was it. She needed to clear her mind of the troubles in Los Angeles. She needed to erase Vader from her thoughts. She needed to forget all about Caedus, her parents, everyone and everything, and simply exist. If only for a moment.
She wasn't worried about anyone bothering her. Most demons knew better, and those who didn't were quickly learning. Besides which, there wasn't one around for miles in any direction. Jaina figured she could afford a half an hour or so of solitude. So she turned herself so her back was to a piece of trunk jutting from the ground. The path was off to her left, the dropoff from the bluffs directly in front of her. She could hear the waves crash upon the sand below.
Sitting, making herself comfortable, Jaina allowed her eyes to slip closed and focused on the very Force that surrounded her rather than any particular, specific thought. She made her mind as empty as possible and for the briefest of moments was without a single care...
Then a warning went off in her mind and Jaina's eyes snapped back open. Someone was close. Someone familiar, even if she'd never technically met them before.
It was him. Vader. She was sure of it. He was close, and he was getting closer. The question was, had he noticed her, yet? Or did she have enough time to get away?
