There was a reason the Rani had not left her TARDIS in quite some time, namely that she'd been trying to work out what it was exactly that was stopping the TARDIS from working in the way it was supposed to. It wasn't that she hated being stuck here. It was certainly more interesting than Earth was ever supposed to be that was for sure. In theory she could stay here forever and still find more species to potentially carry out experiments on. There was of course also the Master, admittedly the best part of being stuck here was being with him, but she very much doubted he was truely happy here. The two of them were not mention to be tied down to one planet, living in linear time. There was the whole of time and space out there and they deserved the chance to make the most of it, to enslave and destroy planets. The city was too small, so much so it was almost stifling.
She didn't really know why she'd chosen to come to the library, she was still clinging to the hope that they weren't actually stuck here clearly, that perhaps this stupid human building might somehow contains the answers she was looking for. Thus she was sitting at a table, surrounded by books on quantum physics on one side and a huge spool of read outs from the TARDIS console and a paper cup of coffee on the other. It was a waste of time of course, put of her knew that, but the thing about the Rani was she did not like to be beaten, and thus she was not giving up.
