Cathy doubted it was the case, given the circles under his eyes. Under normal circumstances, she would have nagged at him, but given the things that she had been seeing, she was willing to let it go. She studied his face carefully, making no effort to hide it. Lindsey seemed a little shaken at first, but with every second that passed between them, she couldn't help but to wonder if maybe it had all been in her mind. Carefully, she returned the smile. "It was fine." Shrugging a single shoulder, she amended the statement. "It was nice, actually. As much as it could be when it was still work."
Sitting back against the couch next to him, she finally allowed herself to relax a little. "I like your hair," she acknowledged with a grin. "Or, lack of it." A hand extended to pull fingers through what remained, the feeling a little foreign, but certainly not in a bad way. "How was your day?"
