Given the state they had both been in for a little over a week, Cathy had an inkling as to what he might have been going through. Of course, she had hoped that it was wrong, that Lindsey would even be annoyed with her for waking him from one of his all-too-rare periods of slumber. The sudden sound startled her, though she barely had time to react before she found herself locked into embrace.
"What?" Her own arms came around him, brow furrowing out of sight. She held him tight, a hand moving up and down his back. Frankly, she didn't yet have any real idea as to what he was referring, though the instinct to comfort was still there. "Don't worry about it, I just got home a second ago. You can go back to sleep if you want. I don't mind."
