"Well, at least she's still discrete." But even with Her granddaughter's appreciation for the discrete and their need for privacy, She still kept her voice low lest and mortal have the unfortune of stumbling upon Her before She was completely sure of their solitary status. As much as She trusted Elaine, She was in no mood for brains today. Trusting Elaine to supply the food (and the wine) and Lucifer the dysfunction, She had taken it upon herself to bring the board games. Every family picnic had board games, didn't they?
She approached the red and white checkered blanket Her granddaughter had spread out. How very traditional, She couldn't help but think and smile slightly. Likely the tradition would stop with the blanket and the wicker basket filled with food, for there was little traditional about their family. She plopped down onto the blanket, kicking off Her sparkly flipflops and splaying Her legs wide with skirt flying everywhere. She placed the board games She'd been carrying between Her legs and grinned brightly at Elaine. Chess and Risk. As if she and Elaine's uncle didn't have enough to argue over as it was.
"Elaine." She leaned over and kissed the girl on the cheek. "Now this? Is the proper way to enjoy a picnic." Sans Lucifer she meant, of course. "The ducks seem lively today, don't they?"
