Who: Babs and OPEN
What: Taking a break from her monitoring duties and getting some Chinese food. Really, I want an excuse to show off new icons. Give it to me? :D
When: Saturday afternoon
Where: Some grocery store in LA
Status/Rating: Incomplete/open/PG
Babs stretched her arms up in the air in a rather lazy fashion before she started moving very slowly down the street. She had no idea exactly where she was going, only that she'd desperately needed to get out of her tower. Everything she looked at was beginning to have a green glow around the edges and it was at that point that she always knew it was time for a break. Not for long, but enough time to get some fresh air and a few more containers of rocky road. She'd run out the night before and it had been a long midnight monitoring session without it.
She could say one thing about Los Angeles; it certainly wasn't the safest of places (certainly not at night), but it was nice to be able to go out during the day and not look over her shoulder, waiting for the latest attack on her life. The Joker had been relatively quiet in activity, to the point where she'd begun to wonder if he was still in LA, and none of the other villains from Gotham had shown up. She was smart enough, and content enough in knowing that there were certain entities here she could do nothing about. It wasn't a shirking of responsibility –she still monitored things during the nights and did what she could to make sure people were saved—but she knew her limits. Unless some freak-of-the-week staged a bank robbery in the middle of the day, Babs was off the hook for now.
"And as my reward? Icecream," she said to herself. Her eye caught a glimpse of a hole in the wall Chinese place across the street from the grocer. "And shrimp fried rice. Definitely shrimp fried rice."
