"'ared!" Annie exclaimed when he spoke to her, smiling shyly as she dropped her chin toward her chest and peered up at him. Studying him for a moment, her smile hesitated then slowly faded to a concerned look.
"S-Sad?" she questioned softly, fingers twirling absently in her doll's head full of yarn posing as hair. She sighed softly and smiled a bit again. "Home." She nodded at that statement before once more turning her attention to her surroundings. There were other things out there, other dangers, but they wouldn't attack with her friend here. They were afraid of him.
Annie wasn't, though. Why should she be? He'd never harmed her, and she lacked the understanding that it was even a possibility. She simply knew he was a friend and therefore, she wanted to see him happy and not sad.
