"And you too..." Mary insisted firmly. "Once everything's settled down here you can go back to school if you'd like, or you could get a job. Whatever you'd like, Sam." She gave him an almost sad smile, realizing just how giving Sammy seemed to be. Dean had talked about how Sam encouraged him to take the job at the garage, and though Mary was already figuring out that Dean liked to make a great spectacle of moaning and complaining about things, she could clearly tell that he liked his job. She wanted that for Sam, or more schooling, whatever he wanted, and decided she would talk more about it to John later.
"You need more time to sleep if it's your hobby." She said with an amused chuckle. "It's more of a necessity than anything, and if you like it that much you're probably not getting enough." Something else she needed to talk to John about.
She considered his question for a moment before answering. She wasn't sure what her hobbies really were. When she was younger, she did all the things that the other kids did in order to appear normal and not to draw attention to herself and her unconventional parents. Finally the thought came to her. "Your dad and I used to love to do stuff outside. We went canoeing on our honeymoon, we used to take your big brother to high school games sometimes..." She smiled. "I had every intention of being a really proud soccer mom." It sounded silly, but her relationship with John and later her children had been her favorite hobby.
