Molly gave a little start when the deformed canines were thrown away from the two, whimpering in pain as they scampered off. Molly was startled easy and for a moment, she felt bad for the dogs but quickly remembered that they were out for blood and the guilt disappeared. For the first time in the whole nightmare, Molly gave Peter the biggest grin. It was so big her cheeks were hurting, but it was the sort of grin that took up someone’s face and made their eyes dance.
Molly’s eyes danced.
“You’re my hero!” She gushed as she held him tighter, her breathing more relaxed and not so labored. She was still scared, of course, but she knew she didn’t have to be alone. Not when Peter was right there with her.
