WHO: Jaina Solo (tag Bastila Shan)
WHAT: A pre-arranged meeting.
WHEN: Night
WHERE: A Starbucks
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress
Jaina knew, in retrospect, that she should have never made that promise. She was now quite certain that her attempts at keeping her word, at stopping Bastila Shan should she ever turn back to the Dark Side, was ultimately going to lead to her own demise. However, as sure as she was that she would probably die if she tried to kill the other woman, and as sure as she was that losing Bastila to the Dark Side would mean her death anyway once the woman teamed up with Exar Kun, Jaina still agreed to meet her at a Starbucks.
This, too, was probably a really bad idea.
Still, while Jaina wasn't as much of an optimist as others she knew, she also wasn't exactly the pessimist that other members of her family tended to be at times. So she did have a bit of hope that perhaps, just perhaps, Bastila wasn't turning back to the Dark Side. Perhaps she had information that would prove useful and just wanted to pass it along to someone else. Not likely, of course, but still possible.
Although that didn't prevent Jaina from taking her lightsaber with her on this little outing. Nor did it stop her from emailing Ben first, to get his word that he'd watch over her Uncle Luke should something happen to her. She may not be a pessimist, but she was a realist, and realistically speaking, if Bastila Shan was once more walking the path of the Sith, Jaina and everyone else on the side of the Light was ultimately screwed in a pretty massive way.
With a soft sigh, her lightsaber feeling as though it weighed a ton as it dangled from the belt that was sitting low on her hips, Jaina stepped into the Starbucks and looked around. She was a little early and didn't see Bastila yet. Rather than standing in the doorway and looking as out of place as she sometimes felt (even when she was wearing the clothing of this world, as she was now), the young woman made her way to the counter and ordered a coffee. Once she had the steaming beverage she found a booth that was out of the way yet still offered a view of the front door. Then she sat down and began to wait for what, she knew, could quite possibly be her last meeting on this world... or any other.
