WHO: Willow Rosenberg and Tia Dalma
WHAT: Unbinding the Goddess.
WHEN: Evening
WHERE: Tia's home at the La Brea Tar Pits.
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress
Willow was double-checking everything before she left the Hyperion. She didn't want to forget anything, didn't want to have to make Tia wait any longer than she already had. So with a quick glance at the sack strung around her neck, a double-check of the contents within, and Willow figured she was as ready to go as possible.
Signing out of the Hyperion, she made her way to the front walkway before teleporting directly to Tia's doorstep. Once there, she paused for a heartbeat and drew in a steadying breath.
Truth be told, Willow was a little saddened at what she was about to do. She loved Tia Dalma. Not as she'd loved Tara, not in a romantic way, but loved her none the less. She couldn't imagine not having her around all the time, or being able to go to her for advice or help when she needed it.
Yet at the same time, she knew she was doing the right thing. Tia wasn't a human. She was a Goddess. And, as such, she deserved to be able to be a Goddess. She shouldn't be bound to anything, shouldn't be stuck in a form that kept her from her beloved water. It wasn't fair and if there was one thing Willow couldn't stand, it was to see an unfair situation continue.
She had the way to fix that now, though. She had the nine pieces of eight. More or less. She actually had nine pieces of odds and ends that had all been spelled to represent the original pieces which were still in their owner's possession. She just had to see the rest of the spell through and, at the end, Calypso would once again be free to do as she pleased.
Raising her hand, Willow knocked lightly against the door. She could probably stand there all night and dwell on what was about to happen. She didn't want to do that, though. No, Willow wanted to perform the spell, free her Goddess, and then get back to the Hyperion in time to have a nice, big bowl of ice cream to forget about the ache in her chest at the thought of Tia no longer being around.
Sometimes, she decided as she waited patiently to be allowed entrance, doing the right thing sucked.
