WHO: Buffy & Spike.
WHAT: A getaway.
WHEN: Later on tonight, after they're both done with their rescue-centered duties.
WHERE: Spike's new place.
RATING: TBD.
STATUS: Incomplete.
Buffy might've been overreacting to the whole thing, but she didn't care. Leaving the Hyperion for a night to stay with Spike wasn't that big of a deal, and it would help her clear her head and get away from the chaos at the hotel. She still couldn't believe she hadn't known about Cordelia's kidnapping until so late in the game, because in her mind, she should've been one of the first to know. She was a Vampire Slayer who knew Angel and Angelus better than almost anyone, and that was only one reason for her to be heavily involved. But no, instead, she was thrown into a search party at the last minute when she threatened to go after Angelus herself. Of course they didn't want Buffy to get herself killed, they needed her to do the less crucial things like taking care of Jack when he couldn't make it home and kicking demonized-Sam's ass while the others got Willow out of the house. Oh, the sarcasm.
As usual, Spike was the only person who was willing to hear her out and be there for her when she needed to drop the bag of bricks and let the world slip off of her shoulders for a while. He'd been the only one there when Faith had been preferred by the Potentials and the Scoobies alike, and he was there for her now when the residents of the Hyperion pushed aside her expertise and did their own thing without so much as consulting her for something simple like advice.
Her muscles were stiff and her expression was obviously aggravated when she approached the place where Spike was staying, as per the address he'd given her over the boards. She was through searching Cordelia's apartment with Nathan and Logan, and she hoped Spike was done with whatever he'd had to do. If not, there was the key at the front desk, but she still hoped she didn't have to spend anymore time alone.
