“Shame! I don’t want to overprice,” Seth commented, shaking her head. “That’ll be bad for business.”
She looked at him, amused. “That’s only in the Empire, Dexter. It’s because of the Empress’ presence that the crime rate is down, like the pollution, and there is no starvation or homeless people either.” Of course she believed she did a great job as ruler and had no modesty or shame to give pats on her back every chance she got, even though she had exist for that function. “The outside world is different. I heard there’s a lot of crime there. Who knows… I only met two travelers of the Outer once.”
Seth was about to pour a new paper cup of iced tea. “Green huh? Or another flavor?” she asked.
A man proud of his job needed to be encouraged in this situation. That was how human psychology worked. She had studied that for ages.
