Caryn Smoke, from the line of Smoke witches and cousin to the Vidas and the Aruns. She had broke off all contact to the Vidas and the Aruns, knowing that they would kill Sarah without pause if they should find her. After all, her cousin was still slightly tainted with vampire blood. It made her faster, harder to kill, and something more. Thoughw hat that was, Caryn and the other Smoke witches had yet to find out. But that wasn't the reason that she came to L.A. She came because she felt, somewhere inside of her, that her cousin would need her.
As she stepped off of the plane and headed into the airport, she felt the overwhelming urge to double over in sickness. This place was covered in vampires. She could feel them everywhere, their power, everything. Carefully, Caryn shut down her magic enough so that they were only a slight trickle and she'd only feel them if they got close enough to her. A witch's blood was sweeter and more potent than a human's, which made it dangerous for her to find a vampire who might in some way be attracted to that. It also meant that she had a witch's knowledge, making her dangerous to the vampire, but she didn't have the training that her cousin did.
After she had grabbed her bags and headed for the out of doors, she had paused long enough to boot up her computer inside, where she felt she'd be mildly safe with everyone around, and made a post upon the communications board, or whatever that was. Looking for Sarah, she was unsure if the information that she had when she e-mailed Sarah a few days ago was correct or not. And if her cousin was still staying at this...Hyperion Hotel.
She was bone weary and tired, having traveled for days. Dominique had given Caryn the money to go to where ever Sarah was, but with the stipulation that should she ever see Caryn again, she would kill her as well as Sarah. She didn't care. And she'd made it so it was impossible for Dominique to track and see where she went. After all, who was stupid enough to lead Dominique right to the person she most desperately wanted to kill? Sarah was a danger to the Vida clans. She knew too much and could pass the information off to Nikolas and Kristopher and the other vampires she had once been affliated with, thus causing the Vida clan's fall. Little did Dominique realize, however, that in giving Sarah her powers back, she'd made her more of a danger than even her vampire friends. It didn't matter. For now, Caryn was in L.A and on the hunt for her cousin.
She called a cab over after she had finished with that, and sent e-mails to Nikolas, Kristopher, and Jessica, letting them know that she was all right and still searching for Sarah. Nikolas and Kristopher had contacted her less than two weeks ago to inform her that Sarah was, as always, ass deep in trouble. They couldn't contact her as easily as before, and that made them quite edgy. This place had a dampener around it, that seemed to dampen outside abilities, but none from within. Interesting. She shook her head slightly and then told the cab driver where she wanted to go.
"Ah, another one of those, are ya? Well, all right then. I'm sure that if they've flown you here, they'll be happy to have you."
Caryn smiled wryly as the cab driver headed for the Hyperion Hotel and once they had arrived there, she gathered her bags up and headed up the stairs. She paid the driver, naturally, and then headed inside calmly. "Hello? Is anyone here?" Cautiously, she let down her guard on her magic and felt the vampire inside. How could..why would Sarah stay somewhere that there was a vampire in residence that was neither Kristopher or Nikolas? Something about that was odd. But she couldn't put her finger on what quite yet. She blew it off and continued inside, just enough that the door swung shut behind her and remained so. She jumped at the clang but continued to walk, setting her bags down on the marble floor.
"Hello?" She called again.
