Lindey's eyebrow arched, his expression becoming one of interest, and it was genuine. So far he'd read and met people who had come from the past, another world entirely, or just a few years back from the future. This kid had been dragged a hell of a long way for this little spat between the Powers That Be and the Senior Partners. He almost felt sympathetic.
"Well, can't say I've heard of that," Lindsey started, though there would be checking the firm's information banks later for that, especially mention and definition of power ranger. Although, he was almost certain he'd heard the term before. "Huh. No wonder things seem a little backwards to you. Technology's probably ancient compared to what you've got there."
Just as he hoped it would, Lindsey's little story had caught the kid's attention. "Just disappeared," he replied, shaking his head. "I guess one minute the hotel's full and the next, there's people missing and whispers about murder and insanity and real spooky things going on in there." He tilted his head thoughtfully. "I heard some were even blaming it on a demon no one could see, but it prowled the hall feeding on fear and encouraging more." Lindsey bit his lip, mulling it silently for a moment. "Things people will blame."
And now he had a name. Lindsey reached out to take the hand, shaking it firmly. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Landors," he replied. "Well, I've been around here a few years, seen a lot of things. If they're not real personal, think I might be able to offer you an insight or two." He grinned. "You got that right."
