WHO: Samantha Stephens and OPEN
WHAT: Arriving in a strange place that is definitely NOT 1968
WHEN: Afternoon
WHERE: Downtown LA
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress
Oh dear, Samantha thought to herself as she stared at her new surroundings. She couldn't say that any of it looked halfway familiar. Oh dear. Had she been able to speak, Samantha would have quite happily done her fretting aloud. As it was her white gloves were wrinkled from wringing her hands in worry and squeezing tightly to the five year old Tabitha's hand.
She didn't want to blame this on her mother and she certainly didn't want to blame it on her daughter, but… well, she honestly couldn't think of another explanation. As far as Samantha knew, she, Tabitha, and her mother had been shopping in Woolworths. She'd taken a few dresses for herself and Tabitha into the dressing room and as she'd been pulling one over her head everything around her had suddenly changed. The dressing room walls turned to city streets. The mirrors turned to store windows. The small bench turned into a fire hydrant. Suddenly there were people and quite odd cars everywhere.
This had to be worse than the time she'd ended up in New Orleans during the Civil War.
Samantha bit her lip as she carefully listened to see if perhaps she could hear her Uncle Arthur's cackling laugh from some corner of the strange place, but after twenty seconds of concentration she heard nothing. Not her uncle's laughter, her mother's tsking, her Cousin Henry's chuckles, or her Cousin Serena's snickers. It seemed her family had nothing to do with this, and if they had, they certainly weren't bragging like they always tended to. If they were behind this, Samantha thought it was awfully horrible of them to leave her thinking it was Tabitha's fault. Samantha knew she hadn't done it and there'd been no other witches in the room as far as she'd known.
If she'd had her voice to explain to Tabitha, she would have told the girl that what she was about to do was not alright under normal circumstances. She often found herself lecturing before she twitched her nose, if only for Darrin's benefit. She squeezed Tabitha's hand as much to keep herself calm as it was for Tabitha's sake.
Well, we're going to need a map, she thought to herself. And a map was going to require a spell along with that twitch. Hopefully she could just think it. She held out her hand Tabitha and I are very lost, provide us a map free of cost.
Tabitha looked up with curiosity as a folded map of Los Angeles appeared in Samantha's hand. Samantha had the decency to look guilty, but, well… she couldn't always provide the perfect example. She unfolded the map quickly and was shocked to see the city name Los Angeles plastered across the top and a publication date of 2005 in the corner.
Oh dear. Back to square one.
