WHO: Nathan and Peter Petrelli WHERE: The Hyperion roof; surprise destination! WHEN: after this and this WHAT: Nathan's finally overloaded. RATING: TBD STATUS: thread; in-progress
True to his word, the minute he had posted his message, Nathan took off, trying to forestall being followed by giving himself as good of a head start as possible while still warning others he wouldn't be in the hotel. Trying, but not entirely expecting he would succeed where all were concerned.
When he'd reached the roof, he paused right inside the door, not even looking around to see if the roof was occupied. After a moment, he was certain, and stepped on to the roof, only to spot Peter as expected. He wasn't an empath or a telepath, he was just a man who had become so used to the presence of his brother that he knew when Peter was there. In fact, Nathan had always privately thought if he was given a chance to concentrate, rather than scramble in confusion or alarm as he'd done in the past when it happened, he could likely find an invisible Peter in whatever room they were in, like some sort of game. Now wasn't really the time for games, however.
"I figured you'd be up here," he said with a sigh, closing the roof entrance door behind him with slightly more force than absolutely necessary. "Pete, our family is so completely fucked up."
It would be hard to tell if that statement came from the truth problem or just that Nathan had finally had enough of the lies and deceptions when all he had thought he knew about his family, about his parents, had been turned upside down and he'd been made to face his own denials through the years.
