Los Angeles, or as she had found out, the City of Lost Angels was a crowded place. It was a sprawling metropolis and the weather was warm. The atmosphere hung above the city thickly. It reminded her of many seedy places she’d been throughout the Galaxy. She had to admit that they weren’t all bad.
This planets one sun pulsed with light and heat high in the sky as she made a go at the directions Master Kenobi had attached in his message. She had found a map at the library with the aid of the librarian and together they had plotted out the most proficient way for a blue girl with two brain tails and no cash to go. She believed she would get there. After all, If you listen to the Force it will lead you in the right direction.
So, with a sense of where she was going and the pulsing Force signature of Obi-Wan acting as a beacon she wandered through the mean and dirty streets of "L.A" and efficiently made her way to the shelter where he was staying. It was a rough place but there was an over all tingle of good will and hope emanating from the people within the interesting architecture. It took her a moment to realize the people surrounding the entrance were down and out. Shelter...of course Obi-Wan would find his way here.
“Hey...she must be with Ben.” Said a scruffy looking man beneath his wiry beard. He ribbed his friend sitting next to him who was too busy tying a pair of shoes to his grocery cart. “wha?” his friend asked the second time the elbow probed into his side. “Wha?!” he asked again incredulously but finally followed his companions pointed finger down and across to the blue Twi’Lek. “Heh....Must be. He’s inside darling.” He said with teeth so white they didn’t look as if they belonged in a mouth that filthy and gestured out behind him with a thumb. His was a nice smile. Aayla smiled back, nodded and then looked past them to the doors behind. “That way?” She asked. “That’s right.” they replied together, short but polite enough.
As she passed them she said, “Thank you.” but before she could go inside she heard on of them say...
“This Town’s getting crazier every day. What’s next? A man in a gorilla suit?” She wondered what a gorilla was and made sure to mark it in her memory to research later.
Once inside there was organized chaos. Lines of hungry people roped out in strands of chitter - chatter. She could smell food and she watched as people came from the line with treys of soup, bread and what she thought must be fruit or vegetable. One of the curious food items was long, yellow and curved slightly. She watched a man peel one and chop it down bite by bite. Aayla thought, I’ll have to try one of those if I can.>/i>
When she came up from her thoughts she noticed that the busy noise has depleted and a large sum of the mass nearest her was sizing her up. She lifted a hand up and waved a few of her fingers at the crowd. Her left tchun twitched in a subtle greeting. “Hello? I’m looking for....Ben.” that’s what they’d said out front-Ben Kenobi.
