This was going to be hard. Sam added that to the list of things he knew for sure as he walked down the street. There weren't many things that he actually knew for sure now that he'd been ripped from his own time line and planted into another. He didn't know where the soul was, he didn't know if the soul was even here, he didn't know why he was here, and he still didn't know why the devil was such a jackass when it came down to it. Hadn't they just talked about him taking some time off? His father (maybe? Yes? No? he wasn't sure about that anymore either) had just been buried alive after all and Sam had kind of thought that the devil got that.
Apparently not.
And now he was here and the cryptic bullshit hadn't stopped, not that it ever would. Of course he'd asked for help. He was stuck in Los Angeles with forty dollars in his pocket, no place to stay, and a super soaker strapped to his back. That was the sort of situation where normal human being asked for help, even if it was from the one person they dreaded seeing the most. Sam had no idea what the hell he was supposed to give the devil. He had the feeling a escaped soul wasn't going to cut it seeing as how he was expected to do that anyway, but it had to be a start. And the maybe he wouldn't end up sleeping in an alley.
Even when he spotted something that looked vaguely escaped soul-like (tentacles for arms were usually a dead give away) he wasn’t' exactly cheered. It was good he'd found the thing, yeah, but he knew that he was probably going to get thrown around before managing to super-soak it. Those weird powers of his never actually kicked in when it would have been convenient (well, aside from stopping trucks from hitting him and dishwashers from falling on his head) and Sam could already feel his spine aching in anticipation as he followed the tentacled creature down the street. It was only a matter of time before it noticed him and most likely tried to drown him as it had done to all its other victims.
Yeah, he wasn't looking forward to this at all.
