She had done time travel before, it was the fact that Manhattan suddenly looked far too much like Los Angeles that really threw her off. Not that jumping back in time wasn't confusing enough as is, but May for the life of her couldn't figure out how she was in Los Angese. One minute she was chasing down a Joy Riding driver who the cops were having trouble catching before school started. But when she swung around a corner, the car was gone, and so was Manhattan.
It took her a second of staring at the street in front of her, and nearly forgetting to let go of her webbing before she started going backward to adjust. She landed on the side of a building, only a few stories down from the ground, and continued to look around. Now what could have possibly caused this? If she had been attacked, or sent here by someone, her Spider-Senses should have kicked in. But...nothing, nada.
People staring and pointing at her as she went by was something she was use to. What she wasn't use to was people looking confused. Which was exactly like how some of the people looked a few stories below her. "You act like you've never seen a girl in a costume before." they looked baffled, or excited, almost like they couldn't believe what they were seeing.
What caught her attention next was a large television screen that was across the street from her. It was up rather loudly, but she didn't need the volume. The date flashed across the screen, as well as the weather and temperatures for the next week. It was 2005, and she was in LA. Blinking behind the mask, she looked down at the people staring at her still. "Guess you haven't seen a girl dressed like this before."
A beeping sound made her look at her wrists. The alarm on her telephone, attached to her mechanical shooters for her stingers was going off. Time to get her butt to school. On the plus side, if she went there now, she'd be years early for class. It was only eight thirty by her clock. It was going to be a long day. Looking up, it wasn't hard to figure out she was stuck to the wall of a hotel. A rich one. It wouldn't surprise her of security showed up soon to tell her to not loiter. Sighing, she raised her arms to point across the streets, meaning to take off again. Best start finding out how she was going to figure out what happened and how to get back. She needed to get back soon. May had a science test in three days, and if she missed that, her parents would kill her.
