Lucas didn't back away from her steady glance. In most situations, Lucas had the upper hand in them. No matter what happened he would be able to alter it to his own advantage. He always manipulated a bad situation to benefit himself in some way. Maybe he could get something out of this.
"I think you did sneak, ma'am." He replied evenly, his head tilting slightly in inquisition. "Those who don't want to be here in the first place always sneak in to avoid his wrath. Me, well.. I have a little bit 'a reasoning with the man upstairs." Not true, exactly. Lucas hated the man upstairs, but he didn't fear him.
His mouth twisted into a small smirk, "Maybe you just knew I was here. But I'd keep control of that temper if I were you. Wouldn't want to set fire to this here church. Been there before and it ain't pretty."
