Hard-soled cowboy boots clomped menacingly lightly down the corridor. Lucas Buck had a way of walking, and traveling sometimes where he barely even pressed his weight down to move. Some people said that he could even glide and that he sometimes appeared as if out of nowhere. If only they knew how close to the truth they were, about the latter part, anyway. The man tapped a pen against a wall. It was an expensive pen, the kind of pen some poor soul would be really proud of for buying if they still had it on them. He didn't know why he took the man's pen, but it came in use last time and so it would probably come in use again.
Lucas hadn't intended to end up here. Something in his head told him it was ten years on from when he had come from, and that his son was nowhere to be seen. Which, to be honest enraged him a little bit more than he would like to admit. The church was the last place he wanted to go to. The very thought of attending church revolted him. It twisted up his guts and it messed around with his head. The last time he stepped into a church, he gave the priest a heart attack, killed him and got brutally attacked by his son's half sister. It wasn't exactly a moment he wanted to repeat.
He couldn't help it, though. He had to be there. The answers, or part of them were there. Merlyn was the cause of this, he was absolutely certain. The stupid loony of a girl was punishing him once more for his "sins" and had sent him to this hell hole of a place which, in retrospect he kind of enjoyed but damnit, Trinity was his town. As much fun as he could have here, he always wanted to be back in Trinity. He stood in the aisle, staring up ahead at the pathetic, small stained glass window. "Merlyn!" he roared. His voice echoed off the walls. Lucas Buck didn't care that the stupid bitch was dead, he was going to kill her a third time.
