"It's more than just understanding them. I can talk to them like I'm talking to you." he said. "They don't speak the same way we do but it's all up here." he said, tapping his temple. He dropped his hand and smirked. "You don't want to know. He was being cheeky." he said then rolled his eyes at Codo who just bobbed his head again.
He watched as Podo climbed to Cimorene's shoulder then folded his arms over his chest after putting the apple back in his pouch. He chuckled a bit and shook his head. "Be nice." he warned them. Dar just smiled and shook his head. "No you don't. You look at ease with the animals." he said. A bird squawked overhead and Dar looked up, leaning out of the awning a bit to get a better look. Turning back to Cimorene he smiled. "They like you." he said simply. Tao couldn't even get the ferrets to do that. They just tormented him to no end.
