"Justin," Ernie's eyes widened, when he heard what his friend said, immediately recognizing that he was upset. He moved to follow him, since he wasn't well enough to be let loose into the party on his own and this drunk and upset.
"I don't think she meant it that way. It's just a misunderstanding," he tried to speak calmly so as to hopefully de-escalate everything quickly before everything just exploded in their faces.
