Lavender & Adrian
Adrian had been on duty for hours but once the dancing picked up, he found that it was harder to see through the crowds. People were concentrating in the middle of the room, which meant that scanning the edges of the room was easier. However, if there was something going on in the dance area it was difficult to tell. Adrian decided to move in closer.
By this point he'd gotten accustomed to his costume, some strange thing an over-excited halfblood shop-girl told him was called steampunk. She'd wanted him in goggles, not a mask, and he flatly refused. They'd compromised on not too many cogs and gears, but instead a pair of nice brown pants, a tan shirt, a pair of boots Adrian found he liked, and a rather amazing overcoat. Topped with his mask, Adrian decided this steampunk thing wasn't so bad.
As he moved toward the crowd he bumped into one young woman looking toward the dance floor. He put his hands out as if to steady her, but he didn't think he'd bumped her very hard. "My apologies," he said quietly.
