Summary: Michael's friends and family are in for a surprise when they see him and they may not be happy with each other either.
Michael had a rough night, but he was glad that Pomfrey had been willing to look after him even though he wasn't a student anymore. Obviously it wasn't her job, but he had been in pretty bad shape when he showed up on the grounds and Hagrid had been walking to his cabin when he happened upon Michael crawling from the Forest, shifting from wolf to human and barely still conscious by that point. With his leg then broken and his burned skin infected not to mention the issue with his eye, Michael was not doing that great when Hagrid rushed him to Pomfrey's care. She had not been willing to risk apparating him to St. Mungo's so she coordinated with them and they said that it was best that he stay there overnight and they would help move him when he was more stable. He would have liked to say that the restitching of his broken leg had been the worst of it, but with infections in his burned skin, that was definitely not it. The burns were not looking well and he had to have loads of disgusting smelling ointments spread all over his burns and Pomfrey had not yet said anything to him about his eye; she said that he was best to talk to someone at St. Mungo's about that, but he knew that she just didn't want to tell him the bad news he already knew. Terry had already said he'd stop by which Pomfrey might actually welcome seeing as he had Healing experience and Michael was just glad to be able to see everyone again. After spending three days out in the middle of the forest being tortured and barely fed, it was definitely a welcome sight to have a warm bed and familiar walls and faces to see again, even if his own face was not going to be familiar to them. |
