Entry tags:!status: incomplete, ^date: november 18 2003, character: percy weasley, character: theodore nott

Who: Percy Weasley & Theodore Nott
What: Breaking a curse (that isn't)
Where: Theo's office
When: November 18, 2pm (sharp)
Rating: Not likely very high with this pair

At precisely two o'clock in the afternoon, Percy was stepping out of a floo, prepared to meet with Nott to finally rid himself of this curse. He had a small briefcase with him of objects he felt could be useful, slung over his shoulder and causing it to ache a little. Hopefully this would go well, and soon enough, he would exit a free wizard.

"Hello?" he called out. "Mister Nott? It's Percy Weasley."

"I am well," Percy lied. He had been avoiding the outside world ever since returning home from visiting Penny's grave. "A tea would be nice, thank you."

He approached the desk as the nearest flat surface and opened up his briefcase. "I have here a few objects that might help. Each of these belonged to someone I've known who has died."

One by one, he placed on the desk a quill (borrowed from Mr. Crouch, and never returned as there was nobody to return it to), a dark blue tie (a christmas present from Minister Fudge), a bottle of brandy (from Minister Scrimgeour's personal collection), a hair clip (forgotten in Penny's rush to be as far away from him as possible), and finally, a smooth and shiny pebble (Fred had found it by a creek and gave it to Percy when he was but 3).

Once his task was completed, he went to sit in the armchair as instructed.

"I'm glad to hear," Theodore responded, heating a teapot of water with a tap of the wand and pouring its contents into two teacups. "Do you take anything in your tea?" he asked, his eyes falling on the objects that Percy brought with him.

"That should offer an adequate start in tracing the essence of the spell," he said simply in response to the items. It certainly did make sense that the man thought it was a curse--in its own way.

"I take my tea black, thank you," he replied.

He rested back in the chair, trying to curb his nervousness. He didn't know what would happen, and from some of the stories Bill had told, it could get quite dangerous. Anything was worth it, however, if it meant protecting those he loved.

"What do you need me to do?"

"Here you are, Mr. Weasley," he passed the cup to Percy.

"What is very important is that you sit as still as you can while I am working on the curse-breaking. It will take at least a couple of hours to untangle--if you need to make any extensive movements, please let me know and I'll notify you when it would be safe to move," Theodore said in a way that indicated that it was something he was extremely used to listing off to all sorts of folks.

"And hold onto this amulet clasped between both hands," he added handing him a smooth black stone with a spiral carving on it. "It'll start to feel warm once the process starts."
