"Some days I enjoy my job, but not on days when I get left with more questions than answers and pressure from nearly everyone to solve it yesterday certainly isn't helping," Adrian replied with a shrug of his shoulder. He sipped his drink, calling the server back over for a strong cup of coffee as well.
He gave her a level look. "I know you well enough to recognise your more evasive answers, certainly," he responded. He wasn't the sort to press though, not a friend anyway. She didn't want to discuss the nightmares, he wouldn't discuss them. But he suspected that meant either she or someone very close to her was indeed suffering from them. It just made him concerned, considering how most everyone considered them a harbinger these days.
"Tell me something you would like to discuss then? Have you made any conquests lately, preferably ones that will further upset your family?" His lips curved in a slight smile.
