Adrian Pucey ([info]everupward) wrote in [info]pandorarpg,
Adrian decided on his meal when the waiter came back with drinks and ordered then. He steepled his fingers and smiled back at Kinjal. He hoped she hadn't taken any silent offense to him calling her job uncomplicated, but as one who merely saw talented dancing women, he didn't expect the job to be very taxing. Few people knew what another person's job was truly like until the did it, but considering how stressful and complicated his own had been since Halloween, it was hard to see through anyone else's eyes at the moment.

He snorted. "That's what trying to solve the murder of a hero as well as a string on likely related unsolved killings does to you," he replied." He was careful about what he said - he wasn't about to admit anything that hadn't already been covered by papers and released in various DMLE statements. "It's my first day off in almost ten days. I needed it."

His expression became a bit more serious. "How have you been? I mean really. You're not one of the ones suffering from these nightmares are you?" It was getting to be almost a normal things these days to discover someone else having nightmares. Many people had come forward to the ministry, but Adrian certainly wasn't aware of every person on that list, nor did he presume to think everyone has spoken up.
