Adrian frowned and set down the file he was holding. "That last bit is my concern. When the living inferi invaded, I wound up fighting off a few of them alongside him, but only for a brief moment. He was more interested in what they were. He let me accompany him to his own department, where I'm quite certain if he hadn't suddenly gotten cold feet about letting me his his process and his methods, I would have watched him experiment on the thing."
Adrain exhaled. "I think he's unhinged certainly, but I'd have liked to know what he found out. We did find out in short order that they were former Azkaban prisoners and that they'd all been wearing pins that might have functioned as portkeys. We made certain not to touch them."
Adrian was more thinking out loud than talking at this point, but he wanted to make sure Cade knew what he knew. "I mentioned it to Gaskin. I think Gaskin might want to know what Chambers found out, but at the same time, I got the feeling Gaskin trusts Chambers less than us." At least Gaskin knew how well Adrian and Cade worked, and oversaw them. Chambers wasn't his department. Chambers may not have been a Slytherin who started working during the ministry upset, but his family history was cloudy at best.
